So here I am minus a digit (broke a finger after putting my finger in a silly place at Go Ape!) trying to deliver the last two months’ gigs’ news! Here goes (ouch!)…
September the 1st I went back to The New Beach Club in Pett (I cannot believe I used to play there with my husband 15yrs ago (duo called Driven!) and people are still there who remember me! I actually had a cold and felt pants so I did three easy-ish sets and the crowd were really lovely, they danced a lot and clapped and cheered – lovely!
The British Queen in Willingdon was next and although it started quiet – it got busy! They were dancing in the end to Love in in the Air, Simply the Best and Whitney. I was told that I sung the best the person had ever heard Whitney sung before – DOUBLE WOW!! The slow hits of the night were Hallelujah, Songbird and Nat King Cole’s When I Fall in Love <3
Then, apart from a New Wilmington Hotel in Eastbourne gig, I had some time off! BBQ’s, sunbathing, waterparks and sunshine time!!
Happy Jacks Bar at Langney Sports Club in Eastbourne on the 22nd was a quiet one (the rain probably didn’t help!) . But there was a lot of fun and bobbing and tapping in set one and there was a rather drunk bloke singing in my face for a song as well so wasn’t dull – he was having a great time lol! The encore was Valerie by The Zutons (they love that song!) . Lovely lot even helped me load up the van at the end coz I was on my own!!
I had a couple of hotel gigs at the start of October, the 5th being rather unusual as they were a big young crowd so I was able to do (amongst others) Simply the Best/The Nolans and Candi Staton’s Young Hearts – and they danced loads!
October 6th I was in Lancing’s RBL and it was fairly quiet but they really enjoyed the night so they kept telling me!
October 13th was Polegate RBL and it was a good gig! It was busy and they danced to The Communards, Close to You (The Carpenters), The Nolans and Franki Valli. I of course wore my poppy band with pride 🙂
Eastbourne WMC on October 20th was quite buzzing when we arrived and just got busier and better. It was a great gig with lots of dancing and they chose their second set which they loved!
Another hotel gig on the 23rd and that was different gigging in a sling! There was loads of dancing and an 83yr old flossing and dabbing was a happy sight!!
On the 27th I was at Portslade RBL and what a surprise it was to see them all dressed up for Halloween! They’d gone to so much effort (pics on my Facebook page!) . They had a great night and danced a lot and we finished with Status Quo and I’m a Believer.
The last gig on October on the 30th at the hotel was the best gig ever! The New Wilmington rocked! The crowd were singing and dancing all night like crazy people!!
(So – done! I managed it with one strapped up finger – phew!)
Don’t forget that I can provide a lovely Xmas present of me singing any song for you recorded to a high quality and put onto a CD!
And also remember to always bear me in mind if you need a female singer in East Sussex or the South East for a party, for a singer at your wedding or a local pub or club – recommend me! My repertoire is always expanding and I am looking forward to finishing off this year in style!
So I guess I won’t be back until the new year now! Have a Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year and I look forward to more gigs and more new songs next year – the diary is filling up fast!!
Thank you so much to all those who support me and come to see me – love you!
🙂
