Well what can I say?! It’s an unbelievably tough time for all us singers and musicians at the moment – we’re even having to get proper jobs! I have been able to do a few gigs since March, one on June 13th in my driveway which was brilliant! Our neighbours came and watched and brought drink and danced and partied and I posted it live onto Facebook as well where in the end I had 1k views! I did a mix of music to suit everyone and it was a fab socially-distanced hour or so that broke up the dull lockdown!
I also did a gig on August 15th for a lovely couple who were celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversary. I gigged in their garden and had my own little stage and everyone had a fabulous Covid-secure time way on into the darkness and the sky stayed clear for us too! (See my Facebook page for video clip!)
I also recorded a video for a friend of a song he wrote a few years ago which I put a vocal to and it looks and sounds pretty cool (see my Facebook page!)
August 12th I was actually able to do a full-blown gig for Lancing Royal British Legion! They had their new rules in place but I did my usual thing and it was really busy actually! I started off with some 60’s stuff and then moved on to the more modern stuff. They weren’t allowed to dance but I had great feedback (not always socially distanced eeek!) which was lovely and re-confirmed my love for doing what I do 🙂
I am attending a wedding fair this Sunday as people are still going to get married and hopefully by next Summer things will be looking up for us entertainers! I have missed a good wedding so am looking forward to wooing some prospective bride and grooms!!
I will be at The Burlington Hotel for some Saturday nights over the Autumn, not sure how many at the moment, but I’ll be out working and that’s the main thing for now…
Don’t forget about me – I can come and entertain you in any corner (I’m only small!) so long as you sit still (which I realise is hard lol!) and I’m available as a wedding singer in Sussex and the South East of course for next year too!!
