Summer Gigs :-)

July and August have flown by and started off with a great family holiday to Tenerife – no I didn’t do any singing!!

My first gig of the month was the 13th at Happy Jacks Bar at Eastbourne Football Club. What a great crowd as always, they really enjoyed Sweet Child of Mine and all the classics and they were singing and dancing to the end with Valerie, Keane and Prince!

July 18th I was at The New Wilmington Hotel in Eastbourne and as a lot of you know I regularly sing at this hotel mid-week throughout the year and the crowd is mainly over 60 and up to 95! Because I now have so many songs I can cater for these lovely oldies and I actually enjoy singing these old songs! As you may know I do only tend to sing what I enjoy singing, otherwise you simply do not sing your best and do not enjoy what you do which will just equal a bad gig, but there really are great old songs out there! It’s a shame that I use my phone to gig at the hotels mid-week because I’d have some great vids to post on Facebook!

On Saturday 20th I was back with Southborough WMC; it was a fairly quiet gig but those who were there had a brill night with me! It’s always so nice to see familiar faces supporting me and they chose their own songs which included Valerie, Marry You by Bruno Mars, Tiffiny, Guns and Roses and Whitney Houston.

I had a couple more hotel gigs and then on the 10th August I was at RBLegion Lancing – There was a great atmosphere there and they loved It’s My Life by Bon Jovi and also loved Doris Day and Cilla Black and Hound Dog, Be My Baby by the Ronettes and One Love by Bob Marley and Status Quo and I finished with Hi Ho Silver Lining!

August 17th was Seaford RBLegion and what a good gig it was! The people really enjoyed themselves, a few literally didn’t sit down all night and probably worked as hard and I did! I always try to do a mix of songs here and I went from Diana Ross to Bruno Mars Keane to Shirley Bassey – and took the show out into the audience too 😉 I’ll be looking forward to going back there next year 🙂

Another hotel gig and then I was at Pett Beach Club – It wasn’t as busy as the last gig but the people who were there had a blast! They danced to Dakota by Stereophonics, Sweet Child of Mine, Lady Antebellum’s Need You Now was a hit and American Pie, Status Quo and Black Velvet by Alannah Miles too – look forward to the next one!

Last gig of August was for The Hailsham Club for the Bank Holiday on the 26th. They all had a thoroughly good afternoon with me, it was a busy, hot and sticky day but that didn’t stop the dancing and fun!

Looking forward to singing again for the Autumn period when it usually gets busier up until Christmas (sorry, I didn’t mean to swear!)

Cheers and til next time – know what’s good and know what isn’t and I’ll see ya soon 🙂
