I’m late to write this month, 14 days late to be exact!
I did four gigs at The New Wilmington Hotel in Eastbourne in September and one in October. The hotel has now be taken over by new people who are developing the hotel into something more swish and sleek, encouraging everyone young and old to come and stay and use their hotel and new restaurant! All of my gigs there are midweek in the main and are always excellent and intimate gigs.
September 7th – Portslade RBL
Was a pretty slow night but those that were there had a great time as usual singing along to Fleetwood Mac, Elvis and Roy Orbison!
September 14th – RBL Hassocks
Pretty busy! They love to dance at this club and enjoyed Lipstick on your Collar (Connie Francis), One Love (Bob Marley), Mama Mia (Abba), Phil Collins, Young Hearts (Candi Staton), The Nolans and Status Quo at the end they were rocking!
September 21st – RBL Polegate
It was a quiet night as people were having late holidays but those that were there had a great night and there was some dancing, especially to the slowies such as Love Letters (Ketty Lester) and Moon River (Audrey Hepburn). Diana Ross also got them onto the dancefloor!
September 28th – Angling Association, Eastbourne
Not particularly busy but those that were there had a great night again dancing! They especially liked Sweet Dreams (Eurythmics), Hound Dog (Elvis), Status Quo, The Locomation and Crazy (Patsy Cline).
October 15th – Crowborough Social Club for The Oddfellows, Beacon Branch.
This group have me back every so often for their mid-week dance and buffet. They are always a lovely bunch to play for as they enjoy being entertained and also enjoy letting their hair down and having a dance and this night was no exception! Looking forward to the next one!
October 18th – Lion House Park
Always a fun night with these lovely lot! They danced practically all night long to songs such as These Boots are made for Walking, Suspicious Minds, Rock around the Clock, Three Little Birds and Let’s Twist Again.
October 19th – Eastbourne WMC
Very welcoming club as always! There was a party going on and so they were up for a fun night which is exactly what we had! Blurred Lines, Uptown Funk and Cake by the Ocean and Pink were the faves!
October 30th – York House Hotel, Eastbourne
Down in the dungeon (basement!) again and the folk that came down were lovely and enjoyed the whole night with me! They danced and joined in with all the songs and really had fun!
So, overall, another great couple of months entertaining people! I am looking forward to the Christmas gigs coming up at the hotels for Turkey & Tinsel and have already done a few, in fact the Christmas jumper was out last night for Boxing Day evening gig!
