Hello and Happy New Year to y’all (no I haven’t turned into a Country artist – although I’d like be so any offers?!!)
Let’s go back to last year and November’s gigs! On the 3rd November I was at The New Wilmington Hotel in Eastbourne where, after already having a great gig there the week before, the same thing happened and I ended up having to sing standing on a table just to get out of the way of everyone dancing and be seen haha! As I left they all applauded me too – so very lovely! Then after that I was struck down by illness which unfortunately made me have to delete myself from the spotlight for nearly two weeks – grrrr! It happens to the best of us so I’m told!!
I did manage a couple of gigs while being ill, the first was at The Southborough Club Nr Tunbridge Wells, it was a good gig as it was a nice lady’s birthday and she came along with friends to celebrate (it was pouring outside but didn’t dampen anyone’s spirit!) I was happy that I was able to perform ok and my voice held out! Her usual faves were done: Get The Party Started, We Are Family, I’m So Excited, Blame it on the Boogie and of course Status Quo’s Rockin All Over The World!
Then I did a private party for a nice family at The Crown in Old Town, Eastbourne. I really thought I was going to be just playing music all night (which they said they were alright with!) but all of a sudden my voice came back out of nowhere and I was able to sing for 2hrs!! Everyone was very surprised – including myself!! There must have been a lot of moisture in the air or something weird that allowed my voice to work again as when I arrived I had nothing!! It was a great night and I was so grateful to have my voice back as I’d missed it so much!! They loved Uptown Funk, Cake by the Ocean, Bon Jovi, Oasis and Status Quo – the birthday boy had a lot of fun 🙂
I did two New Years Eve gigs (pretend!) at The New Wilmington Hotel on the 22nd and 23rd and they were great! They literally behaved like it was the actual NYE and it was pretty crazy!! Loads of party music like Simply The Best, Summer of 69, Can’t Hurry Love and Young Hearts!
A gig for The York House Hotel in Eastbourne on the 28th was the same and they danced all night!
The 29th back at The New Wilmington was the same – party! party! party!!!
On the 1st December I was at Seaford Royal British Legion and it was a quiet night there as something was going on it town but they loved The Everley Brothers, Lady is a Tramp, John Denver (video on Facebook page!) and I ended with Tragedy! (PS: Back there this weekend and their dance floor is excellent so see you there?!)
I did a Boxing Day at the New Wilmington on the 5th and then on the 8th December I was at Tunbridge Wells Constitutional Club for their Xmas Draw Night (that we didn’t win anything on!!) It was a busy and long night but there was dancing all night long on their great dancefloor! They loved Connie Francis songs I do and the oldies but also the dance ones like Knock on Wood and Summer of 69! I popped out into the audience for Simply The Best 😉 A good fun Christmassy night had by all!!
The 12th saw another NYE at The New Wilmington and then on the 15th I did a private party at The Angling Association which was a brilliant gig with a fantastic atmosphere! Xmas songs and dancing all night long!
The 16th I did a late unexpected private party at The Burlington Hotel in Worthing. It was a lovely special evening for a man’s 80th and I enjoyed entertaining the family!
Xmas Eve at The British Queen and The New Wilmington’s ACTUAL AND REAL New Year’s Eve gig on the 31st are a bit of a blur haha but both I know were absolutely fantastic, fabulous and amazeballs haha!! The 24th’s atmosphere was so cheery and Christmassy and the NYE one was just partying all night long with me singing for a mammoth 3HRS!! And you know it’s a great gig when that 3hrs feels like just two!!!
So a great end to 2018 all in all and I am now looking forward to the gigs I have already in the diary for this year – looking busy already!
Thanks all and don’t forget, if you’re looking for a female singer, a wedding entertainer, someone to bring a party atmosphere to your event, then give me a call and I’d be happy to come along – no venue to small!! 😉
