Wow, this is a very late blog for May and June! I have a good excuse – holiday 😉
After a New Wilmington Hotel gig on Thursday the 2nd I was at Portslade RBL on Saturday 4th (May the 4th be with you haha!) and it was another good gig there, they all sat and enjoyed The Shirelles, Tie a Yellow Ribbon and Love is in the Air!
On Monday 6th May I did a lunchtime gig for Eastbourne WMC for the Bank Hol. There was an Anniversary party going on and the happy couple danced to We Can Rule The World which I always love to sing because the back track is so good! Lots of beer and merryness was had!
Sunday 12th in the afternoon I flew over to The British Queen in Willingdon and did a quick half hour spot for their chosen charities. Moved to inside because of the rain but that didn’t dampen their happy spirit! They loved Status Quo and Blurred Lines that afternoon!
The New Wilmington the night after the BQueen was a crazy funny gig with guests who danced all night and even got out the inflatable guitars and toy tambourines! A Great time was had by all!
After another NW Hotel gig on Thursday the 16th, on Saturday 18th May I performed for The Heathfield & Waldron Rotary Club at Barnsgate Manor. Everyone had a fantastic night! They really enjoyed the rock and roll music and we finished off the night with a bit of Whitney 🙂
on May 17th me and few of my special music friends appeared on Hailsham FM singing our own acoustic songs. It was great to do it and get back to doing some original material so watch this space, one of these days I might surprise you with a new single!!
Another hotel gig on the 23rd and the 28th and then after a wknd off, I was back at the RBL in Hassocks for June the 1st. I did this on my own and they were really good to me! It started off quiet but did get busier and they danced to the Nolans and Young Hearts by Candi Staton and joined in with Manfred Man and These Boots are Made for Walking by Nancy Sinatra! I provided added entertainment because apparently the top that I was wearing appeared see-through in my spotlights – eeeeeeeekkkkk!!!
June 2nd I did a spot for Music in the Park in Willingdon at their rec ground. What a lovely day it was and there was a great outdoor atmosphere too! A great sound system provided me with the power to really get the crowd involved and they loved singing along – will be back there next year!
Two hotel gigs on the 6th and 13th and then RBL Polegate on Saturday 15th, again on my own but they were so lovely and helped me lift the heavy stuff! Was another great gig there and I was back up on the stage this time so they could have a good dance! They loved all the classics like Dream Lover by Bobby Darin and Bye Bye Love by the Everley Brothers. They danced to Let’s Twist Again, Mickey by Toni Basil and Nena’s 99 Red Balloons to finish the evening!
June was finished with a gig in Horam for The Horam and Heathfield Football Club. It was a sweltering day and night and so I was pleased to be in a marquee on a lovely stage with a fan! People really very much enjoyed my music so I was told and I finished with Whitney which got people up onto the dance floor!
So the months are flying by as usual and after a rest in Tenerife I am ready to get back to it! The second half of the year is nice and busy with a couple of gigs a week so I look forward to seeing you all to as many of them as possible!! Don’t forget that I’m always after new venues you think I might be suited for so please let me know if you think of any pubs, clubs, or know of anyone who is going to be getting married or having a party soon! Tell them there’s a great female singer in the South East that you know who’s excellent 😉
Cheers music lovers 🙂 xxxxxxx
