May the Force Be With Us!

Well May was FUN!

The White Hart – busiest gig for ages there, finished the gig, sitting on the loo and the Tim (landlord) “Justine, can you do a couple more please?”, Me: Err, I’ll think about it when I’ve finished Tim if ok?!!” LOL!!

Southborough WMC – Stag night and WHY did I do Hot Stuff (The Full Monty)  I had no idea it was THAT kind of a song and yes, the men’s trousers were coming off and there was nothing I could do about it!  A real hilarious gig as you can imagine!

The Toad Rock Retreat in T. Wells was a great gig too, received a sweet picture of me singing drawn by a little girl and a cupcake from another!  Outside, nice weather, and I even did Slade’s Come on Feel The Noise as a request for someone, been a while since I’d sung that!  Always a pleasure to sing for the Toad Rock, they look after me!

Took another couple of gigs mid May to make 14 for the month – amazing!!

Danny and Victoria’s wedding was delightful, a beautiful venue at Gildredge Manor in Eastbourne (www.gildredgemanor.co.uk).  A nice quirky wedding and sharing the evening with Steve’s Tropical Roadshow (what a nice man!)  They wanted more as usual (bighead me!) but they’d only paid for an hour!  We sat and enjoyed a hogroast and vodka chatting to the guests for an hour after – nice!  Congratulations Danny and Victoria!

And then for the monster weekend:-

Langney Sports Club was good (see pic on my facebook site!)  They want me back later in the year, just waiting for the call (if I can fit them in!)

Blackstock Farm’s Wedding Fair was successful and I met some lovely couples and am positive I will get some future weddings to sing at!  Always a good event there.

The Rusthall Club was F U N! A great crowd and another gig booked for my birthday in July – line the brandy up for that one! And I could not believe it when I recognised the place, realised they’d moved the stage and it clicked that I’d actually gigged there before – 21 years ago!!!

The Fisherman’s Club was wonderful as usual in the bar lunchtime, bank hol Monday (once I’d found my iem – in ear monitoring – I didn’t expect them to be where they were supposed to be! Funny!)  One thing sticks in my head from this lovely gig: “That was the best afternoon of my life” said this ‘mature’ man, wow, I nearly filled up, what more can you ask for as an entertainer?

The 29th at The Crown and Anchor on Eastbourne Seafront was a surprise excellent gig!  A great pub and they really appreciated me, I even got a standing ovation! Really want to get back in there.

And the Eastbourne WMC was good on the 30th – Queen Vic was there as they’d had the carnival and won the best overall float!  Great gig with good dancing!

And now I have a weekend off which I cannot believe!  Been learning new songs and been doing the usual midweek gigs at the hotel in Eastbourne.  I deserve a rest this weekend, although I think someone has plans for me for which I will need to roll my sleeves up for!  Oh well, no rest for the wicked!

Hugs to anyone that reads this and take it easy!
